As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.

What to expect after my eyebrow tattoo appointment?

Day 1 – 2

Brows are crisp and are 20 – 40% darker and bolder than your healed results. There may be minimal redness and little swelling.

Day 2 – 5

Your brows will begin to itch and the pigment will appear raised. Brows will appear dark due to oxidation and scabbing. The top layers of your skin will begin to shed. Do not pick, peel or scratch! Let any scabbing or dry skin exfoliate away n aturally. Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour.

Day 5 – 7

Brows become scabby and the pigment appears to be falling off

Day 8 – 10

The pigment in the brows may look like it’s disappeared.

Day 14 – 28

Brows may appear slightly patchy and uneven.

Day 42

After your touchup appointment, the brows will be true to colour and shape.

Note: Brow tattooing is not something you would normally get right before a big event or holiday. You will need to make sure you allow for healing time after your tatoo

Touch Up

In order to understand the importance of the first touch up, think of the treatment as a 2-step process:

  1. The first session is used to build shape and gain symetry.
  2. The second session is used to perfect the brows and we can add density. (2 – 3 months after first session).

At about six to eight (6 – 8) weeks, you should schedule your “touch up” procedure, especially if you would like to make any changes to the shape of your brow, or fill in any areas that need correcting or modification. You should not be expecting perfect results after the first session.

Some clients may require multiple sessions to retain pigment or to achieve their desired result.

Long-term Care

  • Use a good sunscreen. Sun exposure will fade your cosmetic tattoo
  • If you are planning a chemical peel, laser procedure or MRI scam, please inform the technician of your permanent cosmetics. Laser light therpay can darken, light and distort the pigment.
  • The use of RetinA/Tretinoin or any other rapid skin exfoliation products used reguarly on the forehead will cause the permanent makeup to the eyebrow area to fade prematurely
  • The use of chemical peels and acid peels regularly on the forehead region can also cause eyebrow tattoos to fade prematurely.
